her options are endless

On the 1st day of school, the high school cheerleaders & mascots came to cheer at Macy's school. On the 2nd day of school, Macy woke up asking if the cheerleaders were going to be at school again that day.

Um, no.

So, when the high school offered it's cheer camp, I signed Macy up. And on the last day of camp, they had a little pep rally to show off all of their cheers.

I went ahead and took this pic for the off chance that we stay in Lubbock until Macy is in high school.

And the off chance that Macy will still want to be a cheerleader.

(We'll just ignore the fact that we have moved 4 times in the past 8 years...)

Paige practiced her cheering up in the bleachers. Then she slowly got hacked and kept saying My turn, my turn now.

And Macy found a cheerleader to latch onto everyday. I caught her sitting in this one's lap.
Because she's all shy and insecure like that.
Hardly.

But if cheerleading doesn't pan out past high school and into the pros, Macy still has can still get her veterinary training.
Or be a puppeteer.
Personally, I think this act could go far in the circus.
Just add some fire!

these children are not of my flesh

It's no secret that I'm not one to be found dirty outdoors.

But let my girls outside in play clothes while Gregg is power washing and they start sticking their heads in the puddles.

I caught Macy shaking her hair and bottom like a doggie that is soapin' wet!

The only thing I like soapin' is my kids CLEAN!

...Funny story...when we lived in Temple, one of Gregg's sweet college employees said once that we have the cleanest kids she's ever seen. (That is when Paige was an infant and I've slacked relaxed at bit since then.)

the girl, she was thinking way beyond her years

Macy was very proud of her dress that gathered at the top and made her look like a lady.

This one really had me trying to sprint for the camera...

While I was about to fix her hair, she was pulling at her neck singing, I'm an old womannnn.

I told her that some old woman is probably out there singing about being a kindergartner.

You're just 'akidding!

the gymnastics hiatus is over

Apparently Macy forgot the gymnastics dress-code. She was killin' me in these outfits she chose for her and Paigey to dress up in (she chose the hair bows for them as well).

After being out of gymnastics due to the move, Macy started back at gymnastics three weeks ago!

I always knew that as soon as Paigey turned three, I'd enroll her as well. At most gyms, they don't offer classes for little ones under 3 w/out parental involvement.

And trust me, I'm not paying good money to go flip Paigey around myself. I have to do that every time she's in a shopping cart.
And it's a beating.

But Jill found this place that has a two year old class that is not parent involved.

Sold to the toddler in the purple rain boots!

Paige and Kendyl are in the same class and it is the highlight of her week.
Seriously. Could they be any cuter?

Kendyl wearing the purple leotard is appropriate, while Macy squeezing herself into it makes us feel the need to reach for the Aleve.

And take the whole bottle.

home life and kindergarten curriculum collide

It was recently Career Week in Kindergarten.

And construction worker made the cut among drs, firemen, mailmen and policemen.

Guess whose Daddy loaded up a certain little girl's class with aprons (no vests), nametags, goggles and little hammers?!?

And when I first donned this look that I'm supposed to sleep in for the next two weeks, Macy informed me that I look like a construction worker.

I do what I can.

**Apparently I'm as erratic in my sleep as I can be in real life. After waking up three times last night with them off my head, on various ends of the bed, I'm thinking they are going onto the dressup drawers 'o hell. So look for them to resurface in a future blog**

picture Tommy Lee Jones in a lab coat

Once we moved in, I started making appointments for myself...eye dr, ob/gyn (of course, I'm not needing the ob part anymore), and the dermatologist. (I still need to find a family practitioner and a dentist.)

My eczema that I've had since college was raging and I could ignore it no longer. When I'm stressed, I take it out on my skin.

The dr. (a loud, hyper ex-Navy captain) gave me a steroid shot in the hip and new prescriptions.

While I was there, I pointed out some some things that I wanted him to look at on my face.

He told me there are so many issues with your face, let's just concentrate on the eczema for now.

I did one of my no you didn't just say that laughs and turned to his nurse and asked her if he did indeed just say that to me.

Are these country dr's just blunt or what??

the good news is that I can see!

Three weeks of glasses. Done.

17 seconds of lasik in one eye and 20 seconds in the other to restore my vision. Check.

Some insanity along the way. Of course.

Guess whose Valium didn't work before the dr started digging around in her eye?

I was given a Valium about 30 minutes before the procedure but it made me a bit hyper. When I was being prepped, I told the nurse about it and she couldn't understand why "the edge wasn't taken off".

Lady, 30mg of my happy pills daily don't take the edge off (and a Valium on top of it made me a bit nutty)

Apparently, the dr was on a time crunch so they kept adding numbing drops to my eyes. And apparently, I'm a fighter. Because my resistance to the instrument that was trying to be jacked in my eyes left me w/this....
this am

The dr kept telling me, you're a fighter. If he said it once, he said it 47 times.

Then he said, I bet you were fun during your c-section.

I told him that I was fine during my c-section.

He said, I bet you kicked your OB in the head.

Yes, he did.

The procedure was done and I was taken to sit in a recliner in the recovery room.

And I could see.

Now, I can't face makeup for four days and eye makeup for two weeks.

And really, is anyone going to notice??

It is what it is.

Macy - 15mths old

On this night, Macy had fallen out of a kiddie lawnchair and got a big bruise. And she had just started walking about two weeks before this picture was taken.

Lisa tagged me for this flashback. The rules are to post the sixth picture in the sixth file of your photos.

I tag Ana and Rhandi.
