Flashback Friday

The Pilgrim girls were over this morning as Nicole was home cutting and hot-glueing for her debut tomorrow.
I had four girls in the house (4yrs old and under) and as I took their picture, I flashed back to the first time we lined them up for a picture!

Texas A&M has just the right program for them

Last month, Macy had "community helper" day at school. All of the children had to dress up as what they wanted to be when they grew up. Our girl, she aims high. She wants to be a doctor to animals otherwise known as a "beterinarian". Well, my daughters, they dress up but if it is not a color of the rainbow, not made in some silky fabric or adorned with frill and flash, then we don't own it. So, that sent me to ToysRUs to find Macy something conservative.

A few days later, she was dressed as "Dr. Felix" (????) and was back to her own sense of style ~ marabou shoes and a crown. And apparently at her office, they are low staffed she has to take her own letters to be mailed (with pony in tow).

Yesterday, she brought me a doggie and told me he was all better now. She was Dr. Felix again but let me know it was "pajama day" at her office.

Maybe both sisters could go into practice together...

And Paige could be Dr. Pedro...

apparently all five year olds have to go to such a place

Kindergarten!! This morning, Macy and I visited her new school. She did really well while I filled out all of the paperwork. One sheet asked such things on if your child knows her birthday, phone #, parent's names etc. I asked her what my name was. She spelled out, "m-o-m"...Love that kid. Then we walked all around the kindergarten room and got to go inside to check it out. She just held my hand very tight! She was most impressed with the playground, the cafeteria and the aquarium in the school entry (and of course, the restrooms). And I know ya'll are wondering, but I did just fine. No tears ~ I am very excited for Macy because I know she'll have a ball at school! Now come Sept, that might be another story...

Jesus, forgive the little children for they have sinned

...At breakfast Paige was squawking about something.
Macy: Paigey, you gonna have to talk to God about that. (When Macy acts up, we tell her that she'll have to ask God to forgive her later when she prays...)

...Macy always wants to read a story out of her bible before nap and then at bedtime. We happened to be at the story of the crucifixion.
Macy: I'm boring (bored) of Jesus dying on the cross.

On the next page, Jesus is on the cross, shirtless.
Macy: His privacy is showing.

Oh, for crying out loud child!

the breath, it was so sweet

When I was pregnant with Macy, one of my neighbors made (what I thought at the time) the strangest comment. She said: I just love sweet baby breath!

?? I didn't get it. Not until I had my baby and her breath was just sweet infant breath. Now, I am surrounded 4yr old morning breath and wet thumb breath from Paige. (If you have a thumb sucker, you know the smell)

Since Paige turned two, I've also been noticing newborns a little more than usual. You see, right after Macy's second birthday is when we starting trying for a second baby. And we got pregnant the 1st try so our girls are 2yrs 9mths apart. But we are done having babies and our family is complete with two sweet girls. Amen and thank you.

So, SIL Melinda, had McKenzy Leann on Feb. 23rd in South Carolina. I flew out on the 7th to go stay with them and help out.

McKenzy stayed upstairs with me and I got up with her each night I was there. Their golden retriever even slept in the room with me. It was really comical all of us in a guest bedroom together!

It'll be interesting to see if she stays a redhead!
look at the bubbles on her mouth!
'
I have no doubt she'll be as beautiful as her momma.

I am blessed by the time I got to spend with newborn McKenzy. I came home and really missed her that first night. I even pulled up her pictures to look at them on the computer before I went to bed.

I have a two and almost five year old. They eat three meals a day and a few snacks. They nap and sleep all night. They can communicate with me. I got my newborn fix again and came home thankful for the stage I am in right now with my girls.

But let me tell you, the breath was as sweet as I remembered.
