Flashback Friday

last month at Firehouse Subs

The first time we ate Firehouse Subs was in S.Carolina in Oct. 2006 for Gregg's sister's, Melinda's wedding. We were in town for a long weekend and ate it twice.

So. Good.

We were thrilled when one opened up here in town last fall!

Last week, Macy and I joined some friends to see the Hannah Montana 3D movie.

Rockin' like Elvis!

Elvis Costello, that is.

maybe MK should market this flavor

"I love her chocolate lipgloss!"

I thought Macy was talking about the new Mary Kay catalog on the table.

Nope.

Happy Birthday Paige!

My pumpkin, my baby, is two today.

Seriously...two!

Here are 15 factoids about Paigey:

1. She is her sister's shadow and "best friend" as Macy calls her. They dress up, play Barbies and babies all day.

2. She is a tummy sleeper so she wears a Huggies Overnight diaper so she won't leak.

3. She calls me "Mama and Mahi" (like the fish), Macy "sishy", Gregg "Daddy", and Bo "BoBo".

4. You ask her what tomorrow is and she says, "Daddy Day!" everytime.
5. She rarely makes a mess eating or uses a bib. Unlike the old days when she needed a bath after every meal.

6. When I get onto her, it usually upsets her so she runs to me to pick her up and hold her.

7. She loves to give her friends big hugs when she sees them.

8. She sleeps with a black lab stuffed animal almost a big as she is. I tell her she is going nite nite and she says "BoBo?" because she knows he's in her bed.

9. I lay her down in her bed, she rolls to her tummy with her bottom up. She sticks her arm out to the side, waves me off and says, "nite nite Mahi."

10. Her little teeth and smile are the cutest things I have ever seen.

11. She is trouble ~ all of the time.

12. She cracks me up ~ I never know where I'll find her or what she'll be doing.
13. She is still very much a snuggler and happy to be right there with me.
14. She still loves her thumb. But as long as she quits before she's a bride, we'll be ok. :-)

15. Paige Elizabeth has been such an easy 2nd daughter from day one~ rarely crying, great eater, sleeper and all around sweet natured baby. I love this child more than I thought was capable. She is rotten because she can be and I love making her rotten. Although she is a climber and explorer (a bruise a day), she can chill out in her chair and also play independently. But, for right now, I will savor all of the dependence on me because I know my days are numbered. I love this baby, my sweet pumpkin!

it's good to have friends like that

1. that you can call and say "I'm on my way over"
2. that invite you in to kill that wretched time gap between naps and dinner
3. that clean the doggy poo for you off of your shoe in the kitchen sink
4. that later call and tell you a funny story about your daughter from three weeks ago
5. that take awesome pics of your kids and email them to you that same night instead of going to bed to rest before impending surgery the next morning

I love how running a quick errand to a friend's house can turn into an impromptu playdate. That's what happened yesterday over at the Crawfords. Charles got home and ran into the house to grab his camera as this was starting to take place:

Caleb's first Ring Around The Rosey

So blessed......

good help should be rewarded

Gregg was alarmed to say the least when he saw Antonio and Barbie in such a compromising position. Macy said Barbie was giving Antonio a hug because he was so "helpable".

I'd say that dear, old Barbie has turned into quite the cougar....

Because Barbie ain't no spring chickadee.

Here's Barbie in her younger days ~ Christmas 1979.

my future, it does look promising

I can only live with the hope that my daughters will love me through my golden years. If they take as good as care of me as they do Bo, I'll be a happy old lady.

They just need to remember to:

Caffeinate me

Be gentle with me

Sing to me

Be still in the silence

Read to me

Give me my pills

Love me

For crying out loud, keep me groomed!
